App screen is higher res in video mode than still mode

Is this normal?

On DJI Go 4 app screen (ipad mini 2) the live video feed resolution is finer when the mode is video as opposed to still camera. It looks almost out of focus when in still camera mode, however focusing does not improve it. The JPEG files look fine, it is just the live video feed that looks poor. If I switch to video mode mode it instantly improves and I can see more detail in everything.

I have the same issue with my Phantom 4. Its quite strange.
