I'm not sure anyone actually made an actual thread on whether the firmware .550 made any differences for the Auto Land feature..

So forgive me if I put forth my testing here for your info.

Ok, I've been reading from concern pilots saying in .500 firmware, you can no longer abort an autoland (whether intentional or un-intentional) when you push up the left stick. Apparently they were saying you used to be able to abort it in previous firmwares (.400 I think)

So I tested it in .550 and this is what I found..

1) Yes, you still can't abort the auto land with the left stick. BUT.... I push the left stick all the way up and my Bird flies up. It doesn't abort, but it does make your bird fly up, giving you time to do whatever it takes to stop the auto land ( and prevent an accidental drowning or whatever)..

2) Yes, you can abort autoland by switching to sports mode (doesn't matter on or off, it still aborts the Autoland). I even have the multi flight mode (I think thats what they called it, the feature that enables you to go into sports mode) switch in the settings disabled and the button still aborts the Autoland..

I've read pilots saying having the sport button to abort the landing is inconvenient or it escapes their mind when they are panicking.. which goes to another thing I found out.

3) You can abort the autoland with the Pause button. You know, that little red colored button at the bottom left of your RC small screen..

So there you have it... If you guys wants me to test anything further, lemme know here and I'll try to test it out for you guys..

Fly Safe..! And loving my bird more and more everyday.. ;p

Thank you for this information. I have not been updating due to this exact issue. Now I would feel a little better about updating.

That's not what other people are seeing Cerberus. Do you have landing protection turned on or off?

Are you referring to an auto landing or a forced landing?

I tried throttling up when my Mavic when into forced landing mode yesterday (on .550) and found it had no effect.

This I did not check...Lemme get back to you on this...

I've already pack my bird and is ready to call it a night

I was testing the autolanding..

How did you get your bird to "Force land" ..?

I'll test it out tomoro if possible (and not raining)

It goes into forced landing mode when you move the throttle to the full down position when it's at or below 0.5 meters from the ground.

Then I may have misunderstood, Sorry guys..

I was testing the Autoland, not the "Forced Landing"

So I'll take Msinger word that the left stick up does absolutely nothing.
I take it even the Pause Button won't abort the Force Landing, Msinger?

No. You must toggle the sport mode switch or disable the "Landing Protection" setting.

Mmm, thats unfortunate... Guess there is no need for me to test and post here then..

Guess we just have to wait for DJI to put this back in the next firmware then..

I started a thread about it on the DJI forums, and have updated it regarding .0550 (no change from .0500). Never started a thread on this forum, though.

(As msinger pointed out, the issue is with the forced auto-landing, not the normal auto-landing or RTH auto-landing.)

Tip: How to Cancel Auto Landing in v01.03.0500 (DJI, please Fix)
