I am still looking to get this flight. On the B4UF app there is a blue circle that comes up with a square in it. On tapping it you get a notify and fly and if your flight is recreational, first responder etc. On selecting recreational and file flight it gives you one hour of flying after submitting. Who all gets this notice. Do some of you that fly at your airport just pull up in the car, get the drone out and take off. Or is there communication between you and the airport.

Unless you're flying under a COA that specifically directs you to contact ATC you are not supposed to contact them.

You check Airspace
Get Authorization (LAANC if required)
You fly within the approved time slot
You do NOT contact the airport under the new regulations.

Andrews/Murphy is a small untowered airport. You can fly in that area w/o LAANC approval (it's Class G airspace) but you need to know and understand the rules you're flying under and the degree of risk you're accepting by flying near that airport (I fly in and out of there in a Cessna).

Have you taken your TRUST test?

My understanding is that the feature you described in B4YOUFLY just posts a notification that you're there. Anyone using the app can see that you're flying there. I'm not aware that it notifies anyone.

B4UFLY shows if the airspace where you are (or plan to fly) is Controlled or not. If is Controlled and is permitted to fly by auto approval (LAANC) it will guide you to go to Aloft app in order to request the LAANC. After you setup your LAANC (recreational or part 107, flight area, flight height and time of flight) you'll get the LAANC authorization via text/email. You don't need to contact anyone else.

I can understand that there are more concerns about flying at the airport but the reason for ADS-B You know where you are and you know where the plane is. I like to go up when I have the air ambulance chopper coming in. Have a 300 foot mountain on each side of me. I know he is staying away from the mountain. I get about a 5 mile notice on them.

BigAl07 did check out the airport today for some flying and some flying around Murphy. My map looked odd as there were no roads on it but not probably because I was not hooked up to the internet. Can we get together at the airport some time you are there, leave me a pm.

Looking at Geo Zone Map - Fly Safe - DJI I see no restrictions that would prevent you from flying.

I suggest not relying solely on the DJI system. It's often wrong or incomplete. The ultimate authority is the FAA. Their B4YOUFLY app gives you the "official" picture. It's free, easy to use, and provides the right information.

B4YOUFLY also informs you of current TFRs (Temporary Flight Restrictions).

The nag screen I got (and had to agree to) when I first started B4UFLY says it ISN'T the official map.

I was flying yesterday near an airport that has a national guard station with helicopters, a state police station with both helicopters and smaller planes and several private hangers. BF gave me a "clear". I stayed low and well to the side of the runway but even then it was a little unnerving.

What is the "official" official map?

I don't see anything in the startup notice that says it's not official. What section?

Sounds like that airport is uncontrolled. What's the name of code?
