Thanx alot "Old Man".... will I notice any "non balance" if I let's say hover for a minute before I take of for real?@photo2be ,you wont do them much harm at that sort of level ,but they may still want to discharge after the set period ,biggest issue is the fact that you are not getting airborne with fully charged batteries
this is always the best way to start a mission as it gives you the most flexibility, should an issue arise during the flight ,and not having a full battery at lift off can cause issues with cell imbalance ,because the actual balancing part of the charge cycle takes place at the end of the charge cycle so there is no guarantee that the cells all have an equal voltage
Hey Brother the biggest thing with lipo batteries is swelling and they will do that if you leave a big charge on them over a long time of non use and I'm talking like a month or more it is best to store them at around 25-30% for long periods of time and the 2 cell lipo batteries we run in the MM2 have a built in balance board to equal out the charge as much as possible to each of the 2 cells in each lipo battery pack for our MM2 so you should have no problem there I hope this helps you out Brother God Bless Sincerely Clay B.Hi!
I want at least two batts with me all the time. Is it ok to store them at approx 75% outside the charger?
when you first take off check the individual cell voltages they should be all the same or very close if one of them is lower that the other one then that cell will reach a low reading first ,even if the other one is ok,, and can cause the drone to do a forced landing ,yes the battery does have a system to balance the cells ,but as i said it does that at the end of the charge cycle ,by switching between the cells reducing charge in one while increasing charge in the other till they are the same , so if you only charge them to 75% there is no guarantee that the cells will be at the same voltageThanx alot "Old Man".... will I notice any "non balance" if I let's say hover for a minute before I take of for real?
Your batteries will be healthiest when stored between about 25-50%. See more details here:Is it ok to store them at approx 75% outside the charger?
Sure, but when I'm on "the run" daily I don't want to keep the batt. at 100% for a week or so. Or? I can easily check the balance before every take-off. Or do you have any other great ideas? When I need the drone I need it instantly.Your batteries will be healthiest when stored between about 25-50%. See more details here:

As others mentioned above, it's safest to fly with batteries that are 100% charged.
Right, keeping batteries at 100% all of the time will reduce their lifetime. It's kind of a trade off I guess. You could get a second/third set of batteries and rotate them weekly.I don't want to keep the batt. at 100% for a week or so.

Thanks for the link, msinger. I am curious about the battery for the Mini II controller. Do these guidelines apply to it, too?Your batteries will be healthiest when stored between about 25-50%. See more details here:
