Battery swelled and cracked

I was flying my Mavic Pro 2 in Miami last week. After 10 minutes of flight time I landed the craft. When I went to retrieve it the battery popped out of its bay on its own... I thought I was mistaken. When I looked closer I saw the battery upper surface was cracked and the lower area was soft... the battery basically swelled up and cracked. Has anyone experienced that? Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I left the on my bike and lost it somehow because I was distracted by a phone call.

Definitely aware that has been a known issue with the Mavic two pro personally I have had five batteries that have swelled up and DJI has replaced three of them free of charge

They all had between 60 and 75 cycles I contact DJI and after sending him the receipts and photographs it took most of the summer but I got the new batteries

Had the same problem told DJI about it they ask for photos and proof of purchase sent both photos of swollen batteries and receipt and they replaced them for free all I had to do was pay customs

If you search the forums you will find a lot of information on "in-flight" battery failure. Case in point I experienced a battery ejection over water. I was lucky to be able to recover my drone, but not the battery.
See this link:

You can learn a lot about how to avoid a crash due to failing batteries if you search the forums.

I had a dual fall out of the sky from 100’+ agl. By the time I found it it was destroyed. Pretty sure battery caused it. Had insurance with DJI. They wouldn’t replace it . A real bait and switch scam.

The nice thing about this forum is searching for info like this.
The first thing I did and the second was joining.;)

Thanks all for your response. That battery had 26 cycles on it and was bought in Sep of 2018. I'm not sure what causes it... But that sounds like a recall on the batteries.

Can you tell us what excuse DJI used to avoid replacing your equipment?
