I guess this not good but is it dangerous? This is my original battery, 4-5 years old now and I have 2 newer batteries that are in good shape, not OEM but good quality. Any reason to keep using or find a recycling place .. Lithium, right?

A swollen battery is a VERY strong indicator that the battery is on it's way out. When we see any "appreciable" degree of swelling we take that battery out of FLIGHT SERVICE immediately. If it's still operable we will use it for updates/testing (non flying).

Get advise on the proper disposal of these batteries in your area and get rid of it.
If it is swelling I would not try and charge it any longer- its toast. yes it can be Dangerous if you keep using it!

You may be able to get DJI to replace it for free. All three of my original M2P batteries started swelling a couple of years ago. Turns out there must have been a bad battery batch that they know about, because they replaced mine and others have had the same experience.
But don't continue to fly with that battery!
