A view along a paved bike trail which runs the length of the Grand Valley in western Colorado -- from Palisade in the east to Loma in the west. Much of the trail follows the Colorado River. The wide spot affords an opportunity for weary riders to rest on a particularly steep section of the trail, the so-called Loma Incline. Visible at the top of the frame are the eastbound lanes of I-70 just a bit down the hill from the trail's end at the Loma Interchange (Exit 15). Three or four years ago, I used to pedal up the incline twice a day as part of a longer ride. Then age happened. Now I do it once a day in conjunction with a longer ride, but I do it on an eBike.

We have bike trails here as well. They upgraded a section years ago in the south end with a wall like this. I've been tempted to take a few pics of it as it's a very nice improvement and scenic.

Nice image.
That must be an expensive bike trail, was concrete used just for that area ?

Concrete throughout -- probably 30 or 35 miles for just the main trail running the length of the valley. It started out as a private amenity, funded by donations. Since then, local governments have obtained grants and chipped in. It's a sound investment in an area where tourism is an economic driver. That said, Rome wasn't built in a day. It's been an ongoing project for several decades.

Thanks for the info, that is certainly a trail that would probably last a very long time.
