im just considering getting into purchasing a drone and like many im sure a flyaway is a big concern so has anyone had any experience using these small strapon bluetooth locators in the event the drone gets lost.

Yes, there are several threads on it. Do a search for tracker or marco polo or similar.

None to be honest but I was a bit put off with the fact that you have to be relatively close to the UAV to locate it, right? Why not consider one of those with a 4g sim imbedded?
