64GB Mavic 4 Pro Broadcasting RID, But No Pilot's Location

You can capture anything that appears on your computer screen - screenshots and video. The built-in Windows utility, Snip & Sketch, is good for simple screen shots. There are several downloadable utilities for capturing screen video. Free Screen Recorder For PC – No Time Limit, No Watermark is one example.
That doesn't always work out of the box. If the app is displaying video in the browser and it can't be captured, turning off GPU acceleration in the browser settings can allow video to be captured.

It doesn't let you turn off Approximate Location Info, but the other two can be disabled.

They did not disconnect the GPS chip, but instead put a piece of electrical tape between the GPS chip and its antenna connections. I suspect the lack of GPS info from the controller may not trigger a remote ID error that prevents the drone from flying because I don't think that broadcasting the pilots location is a requirement of remote ID; those 3rd party modules that you attach to drones that don't have the functionality built in don't transmit operator location.

The video is in a Russian telegram channel that doesn't allow downloads/screenshots. I'll see if I can figure something out.
With no more GEO, I wonder why Approximate Location Info should still be unable to be turned off.

Thanks for the clarification. It is my understanding that the lack of GPS location reception from the controller will fail the pre-flight self-test (PFST) of the Remote ID system, prohibiting arming the motors.

From the Mini 5 Pro User Manual:

"The aircraft automatically initiates a pre-flight self-test (PFST) of the Remote ID system before takeoff and cannot take off if it does not pass the PFST. I2) The results of the PFST of the Remote ID system can be viewed in DJI Fly."

"The aircraft monitors the Remote ID system functionality from pre-flight to shut down. If the Remote ID system malfunctions or has a failure, an alarm will be displayed in DJI Fly."

Continuously broadcasting the pilot's location is an FAA requirement of all manufacturers' installed Remote ID. However it is not an FAA requirement of any 3rd party external RID modules that you attach to your drone. Hence the distinct disadvantage of using manufacturers' internal RID and a desire to cripple its pilot location updating capability, by turning off GPS on the controller, while not failing the RID self-test.

I did find another Ukrainian video that disabled GPS during an antenna mod of an RC Pro. It looks like they put a blob of solder or paste over what is likely the GPS.
