Brighter Device

With SC you can use any 7-8" bright on-camera monitor via HDMI, if SC screen is too small. SC itself is reasonably bright, and adding 7" 2200NIT monitor is a good combo. I use FeelWorld monitor with LifThor mount (handheld or tripod), works well for me.

I see so many videos saying the range is bad compared to native controller.
The range compared to the "regular" controller is not "bad" it, depending on the conditions, of course, is either the same or slightly less (10-15%) with the SC..maybe in non-fcc transmit areas there could be a bigger difference? The brightness and convenience is definitely worth any slight decrease... in my opinion and use anyway. Once you get a taste of not having to connect other devices, tablet mounts, etc to fly, you'll be hooked. The SC is right at the edge of good performance with the newest Fly app but a few tweaks and optimizations make it very useable. But, I wouldn't recommend it just for the Air2S moving forward unless you can find a good used deal. If you have another SC-compatible drone, then yes.
