Brutal crash, need help figure out what went wrong.

Didn't you say it crashed into your garage door?
That could be the reason there! Too much metal nearby!

Could be, but how close is too close? It's like maybe 8 meters and it had no problem what's so ever during take off. Also it was second flight from same exact spot.

I promised to report back the outcome of this incident and now DJI done their assessment. Verdict:

Warranty, compass error. a new craft, gimbal, props are needed.

One thing I will say about DJI support is that they are pretty reasonable about accepting fault in these sort of situations.
