When I went to check over the Mavic prior to a flight this afternoon I noticed that something must have hit the ND filter almost dead-center and cracked it. I take off from a launch pad and hand-catch so something hit it while in flight. (I'm not at all thinking it was a BB gun hit). Thankfully the ND filter probably saved the Mavic camera lens.

Do you think a bug flying at the right trajectory and speed could have caused this?

I had one crack but did not have a chip like yours....just cracked down the centre...

Unlikely a bug could crack it yet leave no mess. Most likely there was an invisible crack from handling (the glass is very thin after all) or a defect.
