I’d like to add the new Neo2 to my fleet but the only option is to by from 3rd party vendors (s. Korea) at an added cost … I’ve seen that mostly no problems but that if USA and DJI don’t agree on whatever it is the problem is by 12/23/25 , they might not be sold in USA and also that updates might not be allowed to USA DJI drone owners.
Any thoughts ? Don’t want to get burned!

Have a look at the NeoPilots.com forum. There are number of folks there who feel confident enough to have bought Neo 2s, myself included.

The December 23 deadline is not about agreement between DJI and the US government. Our Congress created a requirement that a security audit be done by that date to allow DJI to continue to have new models approved for import. But they didn't assign responsibility for the audit. DJI has requested the audit be done and offered their cooperation.

Congress was concerned about a security issue, but instead of addressing it, they took a backhanded approach to ignoring fact and reality in favor of just reacting without knowing what they're reacting to.

Thanks for the info … I did see something about what you explained and also that not enough time was given to DJI to complete the audit …

Ban or no you will still be able to get updates for the Drone..Thats not gonna be a problem.

It was never up to DJI to complete the audit. The audit needed to be performed by a qualified US agency. No agency has even begun the audit.

DJI cannot conduct the audit. It must be done by one of several US government entities. But Congress assigned no responsibility, so no one seems to be doing it.

as far as I can tell, the buying experience for the NEO2 is not much different than buying a Mini 5 Pro on eBay, the sellers are pretty much the same and the experience is almost identical. Should be an easy decision once you figure out which package you want and settle on a price. I would lean towards S. Korea (over Japan and China) and I would look for a seller who states that shipments to the US are free of additional fees and tariffs. Also, I would get a package with contains the transceiver unless you absolutely know for sure you won't be needing it.
