It’s legit, but many parks have posted regs already since this came out. Anza Borrego Desert State Park, and many beach parks in the system don’t allow them. Best bet is at the State Vehicle Recreation Areas like Ocotillo Wells, Glamis, Sunset Rocks, etc.

The only way people can find out is by actually calling the parks before they go there, or stopping by their office. I found that the State Parks and Rec Department website does not show those closures, so a lot of people are unfortunately going to get confused by this type of posting on their website.
