I'm traveling to the Red Sea in June and would like to take my Mavic with me. Cant find anything official that I can't, but the Unofficial stuff I hear is that if they catch you, you go to jail. Anyone managed to take one into the airport in Cairo?

Yea .. I am on the same boat here. I read this thread on phantompilots that's not very comforting for anyone who wants to take their drone there. The Egypt thread - Insight on customs, filming, experiences.

Currently, the law in Egypt is no unmanned aircraft is allowed http://www.civilaviation.gov.eg/Laws/LAW 28-ENGLISH-2012.doc.
