I would confirm with a State Farm agent if I had home owners, that a drone claim will not get me canceled or raise my home owner's before going that route, and I would want that in writing for sure.

I tried to ask this exact question. The agent got really cagey and refused to answer stating he was not authorized to speak on State Farm's underwriting process.

Personally, I just added USAA's Technology Coverage to my existing homeowners. It cost $73 more a year, covers drones and things like tablets phones and gizmos. Cameras are covered separately by a Valuable Personal Property Coverage and are listed by SN and replacement value. I have only ever had two claims, a Nikon D100 that got snatched and another Nikon that decided to get off the ski lift well before I did. Both paid replacement cost. My coverage cost never went up.
