Can DJI Beat the U.S. Drone Ban? BY Timothy Brazzel.

Meaning...if they built them here, they wouldn't have to pay tarrifs on the drones. The same way Toyota, Nissan, and other foreign based auto manufacturers who built factories here are not paying tariffs in what's built here.
Oh I understood but passed and past are two different words. You used the word passed in your post, so I was wondering if you actually meant to say passed or past, because the sentence would have a very different meaning, with each word.

Not exactly they are paying tariffs on parts and resources, they are just not paying a tariif on completed vehicles that are assembled here.

Every year countless bridges along the American Highway system Fail Basic safety inspections yet remain unfixed or simply "patched" because of lack of funding, Yet in recent years some of our states spent millions building "woke" bathrooms in their buildings.
We have no national Mental health program yet stand up and blame the politicians we hired or didn't when some nut enters a school.
We our critically short on controller's to man our air system and Our military likes to do night training in the flight paths of commercial airliners...(you know for safety).
Our educational system is a joke and I'm amazed most of the graduates here don't simply take their diplomas and simply keep walking right into traffic.
I could list SO many more BUT it seems to me Greenland keeps up with such thing and those are just a few of the reasons why they don't wanna move into our neighborhood.

Seems your comment has nothing to do with drones and everything to do with politics.

Thanks. I meant past. I guess I need to tweak the filter.

Naw, just use the correct word. I don't think filter tweaking would know what word you were trying to spell, since either of the words could have been used but meaning very different things in the sentence.

Yeah it's Greenland and for the record, I think the US should try to annex Greenland if they can. Obviously not take by force or against the citizens wishes but it would be a good deal it is could happen. Iceland, too but that's not on the table since they are basically a sovereign country. Totally against Canada; not cool.

Establish a second international Greenland hub similar to Anchorage and get the goods flowing to the East same way as the West. Don't know if the weather supports year round.

Wait, what? Annex a country not by force or against the citizens' wishes? How does that work?

To be more accurate, what I described is more akin to "buying" Greenland.

Maybe they'll think more about it before the Soviets come calling.....that's when force and against the citizens' wishes apply.

So... just rolling this train of thought out of the stock sheds of the mind... You'd be just as happy to see China annex Taiwan as an offshore industrial base?

The same argument excuses the Russian dicktator jumping all over the Crimea and then attempting to annex the Ukraine because it used to be part of the CCCP.

Though I have no faith in the Supreme Court, the tariffs were struck down by an appeals court.Small step.

That's under the one law which was used to impose broad tariffs, even though the law specifically doesn't mention tariffs.

There are other laws which could be used to invoke tariffs, as is the case with steel and aluminum tariffs, which is using a national security claim.

Same claim could be made against DJI since they are allegedly close to the Chinese military or the Communist Party.

Actual from what I read DJI turned down doing work for the Chinese military

That is depending on whether they "make" them or simply "assemble" them. If the parts are imported from China, they will still have tariff's assessed. That's what domestic automakers are facing.
