Can I power off a Mavic 2 drone with the DJI Smart Controller?

I have experienced a situation in which the drone took off forward instead of upwards, and it hit a sidewalk. (Still trying to understand why, but maybe a strong magnetic field in the vicinity). The drone did not lose power and it continued to try to fly, damaging the rotors and overheating the engine. Was there a way for me to turn it off remotely using the DJI smart controller? I ended up turning it off by grabbing it and turning off the battery, but that was difficult and dangerous to do. Is there a way to power off the drone without touching it? Thanks

If the controller was still communicating with the drone both sticks down and both sticks in to the centre to stop the drone applied to smart controller or the standard controller.

Thanks! I will practice doing that. Knowing this would make a big difference if a situation like mine happened again

The same way starts the drone but try and not do it when in flight or the drone will fall out of the sky
