Car charger intermittent - is it my car?

Sounds like it's better to buy an inverter and run the ac charger instead

That's exactly what I did. The DJI car charger would not work in my 2017 Ford Fusion. Pulled out my inverter and put it in the same socket and used the AC charger. Works great.

Except it is cheaper to get the step up up voltage regulator and it chargers quicker than the wall one, more efficient too

Strange, mines needs 12.5 to start charging and will stop at 12, and I've got a first batch Mavic combo.

Is that tested? or the spec's on the charger? As a good car battery has a restring voltage of 12.6 (once the surface charge has bled off) it doesn't take much to pull it down to 12.4 or 5 while under a load. There are a lot of variables so mileage may vary. I just carry 5 charged batteries now so no issue.
