This Exotic car run that began in Hemet, CA to the Cars and Coffee Idyllwild, CA event on Father's Day 2017. Canyon Run Videos used two Mavic Pro's shooting the aerial footage, four cameramen shooting hand held video footage at different locations on California highway 74 and ten GoPro HERO cameras shooting the on-board video footage with several of the exotic cars that were participating on this run. Special thank you to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department for escorting the cars up the hill that day.

This is just a short video of the Mavic Pro aerial footage we shot for this event. The feature length video of this event will be available soon.

I like the content, but are you flying with the gimbal cover attached? The sun-glare is unbearable.

You must be one of those guys who thinks you have the right answer before you think about asking the right question first. I have never flow my Mavic Pro with the gimbal cover. This was an early morning shoot and I had no option but to fly into the sun so the glare was part of the deal. I was also using a PolarPro ND16 filter which did cut down the sun glare but what it is, is what it is.

Truly no need to get defensive...Also as a side note, usually any statement that ends with a "?" such as this one "but are you flying with the gimbal cover attached? is a question.

;) Though for my own FYI I would like to know what could be done to mitigate the sun glare. I tried one of those sun-hoods and found that the sides of it would get into the frame occasionally.

Great video. Been up that road many times. Love the sound effects...

Hi GP-Mavic, I used small digital stereo audio recorders in most of the cars that I had GoPro cameras mounted onto. The audio quality coming from the GoPro cameras cannot overcome the wind noise when the GoPro's are mounted on the outside of vehicles so I don't use the audio from them.

Thanks for your comment,

Kent

Hey Anthony, I have also tried those sun hoods and like you the hood gets into the video frame. The only way to mitigate the glare is to use an ND filter. I personally try to avoid flying toward the east in the mornings and the west in the evenings.......
