Great video. Any idea what the castle was built to protect?

Built by Moors , Caliphate of Cordaba. The castle protected the Duro River, a line that stood for over 200 years separating the Muslim Spain from Christain "Reconquista" . It changed hands many times until El Cid finally conquered it for good in 11th century. " Horse Shoe " Archways always Moors.
