Recently I got permission to fly in Class E air space from FAA. The area I am flying in called
Taughannock Falls. There is a gorge trail which leads to the base of the falls (about 3/4 of a mile in) The height of the gorge is about 400ft the falls plunge 233ft. The width varies from 400ft to 800 ft
I was there a few weeks ago and could not get a continuous connection to the drone. But when I left the gorge I was able to connect. This was not a GPS issue, I simply could not make a solid connection to the drone itself with controller using the USB connection. Could the rocks adn the depth of the Gorge effect that type of connection? The cliff walls are primarily sand stone, silt stone and lime stone.
