So this just happened, I was flying my Pro. I was on my 3rd battery, no problems. I had just taken off, got to about 200 ft when I got the disconnected message. No big deal, so I thought, before I could even blink I heard the motors rev up to a very high pitch and the Pro slammed to the ground. It is destroyed. I do Have the DJi care and it is on its way now but has anyone had this happen before? What caused it? I thought if you got disconnected they returned home, gently.

Check out your TXT flight log. It might reveal what happened.

Anything that might explain what happened. If you don't know what you're looking for, you can get some feedback from other members here if you post a link to your flight log.

High rev sounds like one prop came off and the other 3 were trying to compensate. Were you looking at it prior to it hitting the ground? Like it was also spinning wildly? Genuine DJI props?

It does sound like that- but that shouldn't cause a disconnect. Aircraft DAT file needed.

yes dji props, no, i didnt see it before, i was looking at my screen

That would work for an M1 pro, but not an M2 pro. DAT M2 and air AC are encrypted.
DAT on mobile isn't, but that's not helpful if issue occured while app or RC was disconnected.
Besides, AC was sent out already.

The OP said it was a Mavic Pro, not a Mavic 2 Pro, but good point that he also mentioned that it was already on its way to DJI.

thanks for all the advice, the prop coming off makes sense but it was so broken up I never really looked at it. I just scooped all the parts and put it in a box and sent it off.

I take full responsibility for my drone crash, I had very similar experience. It happened so quick straight plung to the ground, missed a buddy that was photographing in the area. I am now being much more cautious and treating my drone with more respect. Not accusing you of anything just responding to the question has this ever happened to you?

I agree, i know i did not check the props before taking off, lesson learned
