OK. So I've done a small bit of flying. This past weekend at a moto rally I had to stop racing so i decided to use the MA and try to cover the event. Here is a short (2min) video I put together.

Advice. Suggestions. Welcome.

I basically just used cinematic mode. An occasional POI circle. But nothing fancy.

For thos folks that capture sporting events what do you suggest? I'm thinking it would have been cool to have a view at around 8ft height and directly behind a rider when they started.

A lot of good stuff in there - great video! You seem to have got the camera settings OK for the location and type of action - Well done.
... I'm a beginner myself, but can offer suggestions as follows:
- There is an 'Intelligent Flight Mode' called 'Spotlight' that may help you in this situation. You can highlight the object (bike) you want to follow (off the start line) and the drone will automatically yaw to keep the object (bike) in the cross-hairs. You can fly the drone still while it is in 'Spotlight' - so it can be a useful tool ...
- I've recently done vid's that combine HD video and still photo's ... If you have control over the still photo's you are using, it's best to make sure that they are in the same HD resolution as the video, and also in the same 19:6 screen size. That way they just flow through nicely without grainy resolution and black bands either left/right or top/bottom.
- Most of this vid was 'dramatic' so suited the abrupt edit from one sequence to the next, but for the not-so-dramatic bits, try using a 'fade' from one sequence into the next (especially between your still photo's).
- Last one ... I'm not sure what your drone flying reg's are like there, but if I published a video showing my drone flying over a UK crowd like you have done - I'd be in trouble! Just be aware of what the local 'drone code' is and don't let your vid's incriminate you!

Thanks!
No regs in West Africa aboit overflying people so I'm good there. Whew.

Spotlight. I thought I had studied all the modes but honestly didn't know this one. I will definitely try it out! Huge tip.

Transitions. Yes, you are right. Will try for a fade in/out or other transition on the less dramatic stuff.

Thanks. Awesome tips.

Hmmm - May have put you wrong there - I own a Mavic Pro Platinum - and I don't know if the Mav' Air will give you 'Spotlight' ???
Let me know if it's in your Intelligent Flight Mode options.
