Defective clips

I'm joining my videos with avidemux, and finding many defective clips, that won't play. These may of been copied one or more times between hard drives. So I'm losing over 3 minutes of footage at times. Guess I should try to join them as soon as they've been copied to my computer. But many times on trips, I can't do that. Anyone else find defective clips?

Backup drive for saving sd cards in the field

Does anyone know of a stand-alone backup drive for saving sd cards in the field, preferably rechargeable?
