Disabling Vision Positioning when flying over water

In the DJI go 4 app on line manual under Return to Home Altitude there is a link "How to Use RTH Safely" if you click on that link it tells you to disable vision positioning when flying over water. My question is if I disable it will my MA record the home point and return to home when I press RTH on the control or in the app? Thanks in advance for any helpful information. JNNR

VPS has nothing to do with RTH or your home point.
The HP is recorded by the Mavic as soon as it gets a good position fix after starting up.
It's stored in the Mavic so that it can RTH if signal is lost.
Disabling/enabling VPS makes no difference to your home point.

Yes.

The downward sensors are used to help the drone hold a stable horizontal position when hovering near the ground (or water in this case). Since the sensors aren't able to properly detect some surfaces like water, you'll sometimes see people recommend they be disabled. If you're flying over water (even within range of the downward sensors), you shouldn't notice a difference when the downward sensors are enabled or disabled. If you're hovering in place near the surface of the water, then your drone might not be as stable as it is when hovering in place over solid ground.

Thanks for clearing that up about flying over water because I do a vast majority of my flying above water of some kind. I have never had any problems with this issue before but I still appreciate your feedback on this issue.
