DJ mini 2 se limited range

when i get to approx 1 mile distance, i get the range warning and losing signal, im in a wide open 40 acre field, s no obstructions.... i see the mini 2 se has 6 mile range, am i missing something? i have range set at no limit and height at 330' max......i fly inn sport mode when trying to go out any distance (for speed) full charge on both batteries in aircraft and remote....
