Dji app requires control of phone calls

Using the DJI app for my mavic shuts down if I don't give it permission to control phone calls, preventing flight if I don't agree. Anyone know why and how to get around it? I ferl highly suspicious of this.

go to airplane mode,you don't want calls coming in,it will disrupt go4

what rickw said - why would you want calls coming in while you're flying? better yet - get a separate monitor/tablet/different phone for flying purposes and keep IT in airplane mode.
