DJI Care Refresh on a used drone?

I searched but couldn't find the answer on the forums, I'm sure I missed it. And I read the terms but couldn't see anything on DJI's website clearly stating this either.

I know you can purchase DJI Care Refresh after 48 hours by doing the video verification. Is there a limit on how old the drone can be for adding Care Refresh? I am considering buying a used M2Z that currently does not have Refresh. Want to know if I can add that, after video verification. Thanks.

I doubt it. I tried last year on a used Phantom and they said no. Only to Original buyer.

You can find details on the DJI site after you establish an account and log in. I did not notice a time limit but did see the following: "DJI Care Refresh and the corresponding product must be purchased from the same country or region. DJI Care Refresh only supports aircraft purchased from official or authorized channels, and its benefits are only eligible in the region where it was purchased." So if you are buying used from an individual you cannot get Refresh.

You don't mention where you live, but in the states you could try State Farm. All they need is a receipt showing cost.

Bought a used Air. Wanted the original receipt. Original owner couldn’t provide it. Took a pic of the drone showing serial # and my driver’s license. Insured. $45 a year, full coverage, no deductible. ‘Personal item’. They knew the cost by looking at Target’s website for cost. $800.

I have a phantom 4pro v 2.0 and a Mavic 2 Pro with that I bought pre owned on eBay.i contacted State Farm to purchase insurance under personal item and they said I needed the receipts for the drones for me to get coverage so I left.i didn’t ask if I could use purchases on my eBay and use that as a receipt.

Why not??? A receipt is a receipt. They just need proof of ownership and your eBay purchase price to establish the insured values. Go back with your Bbay receipts!

Yes I called State Farm and they did say that I could use my account purchases from eBay.just had to make copies of the purchase. So gonna try again and see what happens

I’d ask. I took a video of it on the floor showing it taking off and hovering with my driver’s license right next to it. I have auto and homeowners with them so perhaps they gave me a little slack.

State Farm doesn't care about flight worthiness. They just want some form of proof of purchase to establish value. Only DJI cares about proof of flight worthiness, since they don't want you buying Refresh AFTER crashing!
