DJI Go to DJI GO 4

Im sure this has been talked to death here but im new to Mavic Air coming from a P3P. Why do I need the DJI Go 4 app now instead of the good old DJI Go? Please enlighten me as I am a lowly commoner!

The Mavic Air is not compatible with DJI GO 3. You must use DJI GO 4.
