Agree, it looks really strange. Maybe the gimbal is mounted upside down? :-/

There is no need for yaw; several drones already demonstrated perfectly stable images with just 2 axis stabilisation, with the 3rd electronic.

I already posted 2 years ago that all future drones would be built around the camera instead of the obsolete “camera hanging under a roof obstructing the view
