Dji mini 4k hacks

I have read in the past of pilots flying up a mountain, landing and launch again.

This resets the home point and perhaps will help you get to the destination.


We have a similar rule here in the States and have to remain less than 400 feet above the ground.


It's just a hacky idea, but it may work.

You don’t need to land to reset the home point. However, if at some point you need to RTH, you have a different issue.

I have a dji mini 4k. It's a new drone and it's quite difficult to find hacks. The 120m limit from the home point makes mountains recording so difficult. Altitude removal would be a legal solution.
If someone can find mods or hacks for the mini 4k please tell, every mini 4k mod is welcome

You can apply officially to DJI to have your Mini 4 reclassified from CO to C1 status. I have already done this with my Mini 4 Pro. This unlocks the 120 m height restriction and also allows you to fly with the heavier 3850mAH battery plus.

I wish. The mini 4k cannot be declassified to c1. You just can remove the class. And a drone with no class (newer than 1/1/2024) is illegal to fly in Spain. That's why I need another Alternative

Yas, I did. My drone came out this year, so I cannot remove the class mark and fly normally, I'd have to fly under specific conditions :'(

It's a great idea! It's very difficult due to terrain reasons but can be a nice alternative.

Nah... very difficult situations to control in the mountains if there are no large, flat areas that are clearly visible from below.
This could be a great way to crash or lose the drone's signal during or shortly after landing far away and in that case you would probably lose the drone too if you don't have a good chance of going to retrieve it.

The mini 4k cannot downgrade the class to c1 . The mini 4 pro can, but it's the only one.

If you had read my earlier posts you would have noticed that I referred to it as the Mini 4 Pro. This time I was being economical with my words.

Thing is I think you can't compare them in this case,

mini 4k does not allow extended batteries, mini 4 pro does.
thus mini 4 pro can potentially go over 249g with official accessories, which requires them to make c1 available.

this need is not given with mini 4k,
thats how I see it, just comparing generation numbers doesn't apply here (which are also debatable to compare because mini 4k is still just mini 2 so you compare 4th gen with 2nd gen)

I tried to reset the home point as you said (not landing) and it only did reset the horizontal distance to 0. The height did not change. So at least with this drone it's not possible. But thank you for giving ideas

At the end of the day I am sorry that you can't remove the 120 m height restriction. I tried for several weeks with the various hacks but they didn't work so that's why I went for the C1 label.
