This is unfortunate, wondering if DJI is second guessing there release on May 15th. This will sure jack up the cost, of whatever they are releasing. Might be enough for us to not want to purchase because of the tariff.

We can be crafty. If you have a small screen phone, duck tape and magnifying glass can help. It will look funny but will get the job done. Kinda like how I came across this old gameboy add on. It was a square magnifying glass that made the screen 2x bigger.

I think it's just another cash grab by DJI.

Potential workarounds exist such as grey imports unless they also jackup their prices. Or you can just wait until supply exceed demand and they go on sale to clear excess inventory. Classifieds also an option from the flyaways etc

China has been ripping off the US for too long. Punishing customers leads to fewer customers. The Anafi is becoming more attractive. ??

It's not about DJI it's that China is now facing tariffs in retaliation for it's own trade practices. In spite of increase DJI will continue to be the leader in "consumer" drone products at incredible price:performance ratios. You can argue for or against the new tariffs but it's going to be a period of toughening up and waiting to see if China get the message about their stealing and manipulation. I still feel fine about DJI the company with what they have made possible in drone photography and film-making.

I'm surprised it's tariffs.
They did this pricing scheme with the crystal Ultra. For about six months it was $849, then it went up to the current $1000

Wow! can these be used for cryptocurrency mining? reminds me of the GPU price increase.

I'm not getting into political debate here and neither should anyone else. What I can say is that items in the country would not be subject to the new tariff rate. Funny thing, I was thinking about this yesterday. I believed it would absolutely raise the cost of DJI products that had not yet arrived. Seeing as the SC is really behind in production it is reasonable to assume that they have not arrived in the United States. Therefore they absolutely would be exposed to the new tariff rate. Where as the Mavic 2 Pro's are in stock. When the stock runs out there will be a jump in the price because they will have to import under the new Tariff rates. Really interesting. Glad I have mine in hand.

they already went up in price! the Mavic 2 Pro!

Yup in stock items should not go up, the SC has been out of stock so they can apply the new tariff.

Hey, like everything else if the product is priced too high no one buys, stock sits there and prices go down (usually:))

That’s what happens when governments impose tariffs on one another for no real reason.

If that's what you think, you're not paying attention. Do some learning about the reasons behind the current (temporary) tariffs.
Fortunately, they're being used as tools, not policy.

Bloated unions demanding outrageous benefits like the UAW, where even when they are laid off, workers still get 95% of their pay..which does nothing to alleviate financial pressure for the company.
Must be those **** unions that brought America down. The nerve of them protecting workers from dangerous working conditions, sub standard pay, abusive managers, etc. Think how all those former UAW wothers who lost their jobs when Corporations moved manufacturing to Mexico are doing so well now asking, "Did you want fries with that?"

Apologies for the political rant brought on by Aero's myopic view.

That's what happens when you buy Chinese. Makes me feel even better for buying the Smart Controller immediately after it was released and selling my original controller for $220. Net price: $429.00.

Any of you complaining dont see the bigger picture. The US has not had anywhere near the manufacturing infrastructure it had in the 1950s. We have become a nation of consumers rather than producers. During WWII, the US turned every factory into a weapons production facility. If we ever had to do that again, we would find it infinitely more difficult as the number of factories then compared to now is significantly reduced.

Bloated unions demanding outrageous benefits like the UAW, where even when they are laid off, workers still get 95% of their pay..which does nothing to alleviate financial pressure for the company.

While the tariffs do put pressure on the US consumers, it does open the door to sparking growth and forcing us to consider rebuilding our own, independent economic growth.

You're right, it wont be easy and you specifically may not see the benefit depending on how old you are, but it's a start from decades of an eroded economy.
If we get rid of all socialist programs, we will be competitive again. Corporate greed knows no limits. Our corporations were willing to do business with God-less communists and their slaves so that they could make more profits!

But the tariffs get paid by China .. don't they?

There are over 5000 different product categories subject to the new tariff increases.
Across DJI's product range, different products can be classified and affected differently.
The way I understand it is that WE pay any tariffs imposed; NOT the foreign government/business. The tariff money goes into our own government's coffers. Unless the companies take less profit by lowering prices on their product, they don't lose anything. We do.

If corporations paid taxes like we do, there would be plenty of money to fix our infrastructure. If everyone were taxed on all earnings instead of just "earned income", there would be even more money. OMG! Did you say "godless commies"? Are we going back to the stupid 50's mentality? Blacklisting, fear mongering, etc.? I know life is a circle, but I sure hope it doesn't get that bad again. Just remember: An educated populace is a threat to a bad government. Vote the right people into office, and they'll represent YOU, not the corporations.
