DJI Smart Controller really as bad as its reputation?

I love my SC, even with older eyes. I just add another pair of reading glasses and it's clear and magnified as a bonus. I did try the Epson BT-300s (very cool, very much so) but my flying is run-and-gun style and I need to keep things simple (+1 for the SC because it runs multiple aircraft). I don't like the need to re-link when you switch aircraft but just I added it to the pre-flight checklist and deal with it (but seriously DJI, why?). Also, not being an Android guy, it takes some getting used to the OS that is surprisingly versatile. A nice enhancement for the current SC is to add a Bluetooth handheld keyboard/touchpad device - this makes life even better.

Which ones did you buy? Had you noticed a problem prior to making the purchase?

I'd also appreciate this information That said, there must've been a reason for you to get the range extenders right?

No not really experienced any issues as I have always flown LOS. Just seemed to make sense having them.

Did the range extenders require major surgery to the SC?
