FYI, Unlike the larger DJI RPA's, the NEO has a firmware altitude lock set at 120m.
However, a DJI Unlock Request for an altitude increase has been successfully approved and surprisingly within minutes.
I found out about this restriction as I was flying in a mountainside area and required another 100 ft or so to clear the trees. I was approved for 600ft using a circled area.
I then applied and was approved for a 1500 ft ceiling to clear a local ski hill using a fairly larger Polygon area and was careful to exclude any aerodromes.

I haven't tested it yet as it's snowing today but will report back with an edit.

If you plan to fly in those spots often you can apply to extend the Unlock Request for up to 1 year. I fly in the same area quite often so as soon as I get the confirmation email from DJI Fly Safe I reply and request the extension. After that the Unlock request stays on my controller until it expires.

I did get it for a year. Am I reading this correctly that you applied for an extension immediately or did you wait for the approaching renewal?
Also: were there any aerodromes in your unlocked area request?

When I originally apply for the unlock request I only get approved for a couple days, then I reply to them for the extension. Yes it’s within an aerodrome.

Interesting. I got approved for a year immediately. I will include aerodromes next time. Thanks.

Maybe things are different for the Neo having to request clearance above 120 meters. With my Mavic 3 Pro and Mini 3 Pro I only need to unlock for above 500 meters. Between 120 and 500 there are only onscreen warnings.
True that. My Air 3S can fly up to 500m (without an unlock) although I never exceed 400 ft AGL.
A desired feature would be a ground following altitude hold (eg 200 ft AGL) which is not available on the Air 3S.

I seldom use the DJI waypoint option as it’s a bit restrictive. I create most of them using Litchi Mission Hub and convert them to a DJI waypoint mission. All of the settings and elevations remain unchanged. Attached is the waypoint file screenshot from Litchi Mission Hub and a photo of the resulting mission after being rotated and flown on a Mavic 3 Pro. The photo is a long exposure of the flight.

@RAC DJI
I'm jealous as Litchi is not available for the Air 3S. However, you're steering me in a new direction.
It's called Waypointmap.com which I've been toying around with. It necessitates some planning but it works. Notwithstanding, It would be nice to be free of all this planing stuff and just fly by the seat of your pants with some ground altitude tracking function.

Litchi is not available for the Mavic Series as well but the missions can be converted for use on the Air 3s. And you can toggle the option for using online elevation data.
