Does Dji Go 4.0 require cell service?

I will be hiking at 10,500 to 11,000 feet elevation. Previous camping trips resulted in no/very poor cell reception. Is the app on my Apple phone all I need? Any other suggestions at this height?

I use an older Nexus 5 cell phone with no cell phone service whatsoever. I also recently flew my MA in an area where there was no WiFi/Internet. I suspect the Mavic Pro has similar capability.

I would set you your phone to Airplane mode, to make sure nothing is attempting to interfere with the RC and video signal.

For flight of a Mavic, you are using RC mode (make sure the drone is set to RC not wifi), so you do not need any service with your phone or wifi. this is if you are using the OTG cable from RC controller to phone or a standard USB/lightening cable from phone to standard USB port on back bottom of controller.

Possibly better put...how to do this well.
Because I will try this on a mammoth iPad Pro, I might have a chance.

The trick will be to match scale of map to range of drone.

Am I on the right path?
