The initial video was live stream but what is posted on YouTube is video of that stream, is it not?@tstr14 it was a live stream -- available for playback for those who missed it live. You can fast forward to the start of the content if you'd like.
Indeed. And that's why you can scroll ahead to the spots of interest. The initial video was live stream but what is posted on YouTube is video of that stream, is it not?
If the video had posted a table of contents, you could jump to that section. But it didn't so you would have had to watch it until it came to that point.Indeed. And that's why you can scroll ahead to the spots of interest.
Absolutely! Clicking links in a table of contents would be even easier than manually scrolling ahead. That's unfortunately not an option in this case though. If the video had posted a table of contents, you could jump to that section. That's the responsibility of the person who authored the video.Absolutely! Clicking links in a table of contents would be even easier than manually scrolling ahead. That's unfortunately not an option in this case though.
No worries. Feel free to move on if you're not interested. I'm sure others will watch if they are interested in the topic. That's the responsibility of the person who authored the video.
If someone dumps their video link with no context to build up views, I skip it. There's an audience for that stuff, but it's not my cup of tea.
So they could edit out the time wasting section or sections.Indeed. And that's why you can scroll ahead to the spots of interest.
Indeed. But, it's uncommon for people to edit recorded live streams. They simply put them up for replay as-is... just as if you watched in person. So they could edit out the time wasting section or sections.
I refused to view video when saw8 and a half minutes of lead in before the actual topic is a great example of extremely poor video editing.

…That makes sense. If the video had posted a table of contents, you could jump to that section. But it didn't so you would have had to watch it until it came to that point.
