I learning how to edit. I have some video on my smart controller i played with and added some music. Im looking to get the video off the controller and on an sd chip. Im trying to figure it out. I have the video on an sd chip in the drone also

You just need the Footage from the SC card in the drone.
You can use the Recording screen footage from the SC in the Controller

Ok I already know what is on the drone but the drone footage does not have the ability to edit. I can take the chip out of the drone but how do I use the SC to edit it?

Edit it on your computer, you have far more control and a bigger screen to see things. Also I think Phantomrain meant SD car from the drone, rather than SC card.

The Appendix in your Smart Controller (SC) User Manual goes into the details on how to store, move and share files on your SC and the SD card on your SC. You can trasnfer files directky to another smart device, or onto the built in SD card

ALWAYS, either download or remove the files to the actual computer your gong to use to edit files. either images or vids. The files can be corrupted if you try to actually edit them while the card is still in your device.

You don't want to lose your files....

actually it does not go into great detail. what i want to do is edit in the smart controller and then transfer to the sd card in the smart controller. I'm sure there are plenty of people who use fancier methods to edit but I'm not there yet.

The quality of the video is better off the SD card from the drone unless your downloading video from the drone to your phone. I don't have a smart controller so can't help too much. But if you want free editing software for windows DaVinci resolve is the way to go. If you want to pay for it you can also use your gpu to encode not just your cpu.
