My heart sank when I saw the header tag.... I was fully expecting to read the name 'Rick Gillespie' in the article.

Old Amelia certainly gets around a bit - so far her plane's been spotted by a platoon of Aussie soldiers yomping across Papua in the mid '40's... On the bottom of the Pacific between Hawaii and Japan... on a variety of islands in the South China sea...

Fascinating but as Paul Harvey used to say, where’s the “rest of the story”?

The story tells us that subsequent LiDAR runs discovered an object similar to a Lockheed Electra…..and then……nothing.

What gives?

I can’t count the books I’ve read about that flight, the search and all the subsequent discovery’s. Japanese copy’s of the PW 985 , aluminum skins with possible similar rivet patterns, possible human bones. All what one now would only call click bait.
