Hi All
I am new to drones but want to take some aerial images of my house before building work begins (extension) doing so will capture my neighbours gardens. What are the laws and regulations in doing so? If I share any images in the future I would make sure their properties are blurred out but cant find any definitive answers online

Why not just have a friendly chat with your neighbour first and see if he (or her) has any objections or concerns.
edit:- I realise now that you meant publishing in the future and that you already have spoken to your neighbours where required. Sorry.

With regard to the GDPR rules, data protection would only apply if the image;

- Reveals personal data such as contact details, or an address

- shows clearly enough an individual/s that may be identified on photographs

If your images show those, then you’ll need permission.

So, you’ll be fine. After all, Google doesn’t ask us all if we mind satellite photos of our homes, or photos of our houses on street view.
