Drone in New York

Sorry to ask again about this subject, but since laws are always changing, I need your knowledge on this issue.
I live in Brazil and my daughter is living in New York.
She is going back to New York.
Is it legal to get in US (specially through NY) with a drone?
I understand the battery should be with her in the cabin in a special package.

YES IT'S LEGAL
I understand the battery should be with her in the cabin in a special package.
I travel with 5 batteries and I never put mine in any battery bags
If she can squeeze it on her carry-on ,Its probably a good ideal to carry the drone on instead of in checked luggage
