That's only part of the story. No doubt these drones did their job while substituting for situations where human intervention and interaction often goes sideways. This could have been alot worse. The other unmentioned part of the story is those drones were used to collect intelligence data and photographs and other vital important about *all* the protestors including the university administration faculty and staff whether they were peaceful or not and shared with homeland security and other local law enforcement agencies where they will be used for various reasons including checking for ties with other nefarious organizations, adding details to the watch lists, documenting and tracking their activities while not protesting, and maintaining a dossier including their ties to other members in the communities and their families. Because there are laws specifically prohibiting, this information is likely to be collected and maintained in perpetuity and for those few citizens who's protests were not legal at times, drone data will be used in court against them. Drone evidence is effective and largely irrefutable. Authorities can rely on the "intelligence" data when making decisions to justify their actions.Watching New York Mayor Adam's 9:30am news conference right now.
He explicitly mentioned that drones were used to gather vital intel on the Hamilton building occupation, aiding in the peaceful, orderly clearing of the building.
