Drones "Spying" on New Jersey.

Some of the people interviewed said that the sightings were near an airport. Yep. Because that's where the planes are. One guy said they were coming in one after another after another. Yep. Those are planes in the pattern landing at the airport.

Here's another example from this video.

That's NOT a drone--it's got a pilot in there. It's a Black Fly Aircraft. One of these. Just google Black Fly Aircraft.

That's my current theory right now.

It wasn't long ago I was very patriotic, with a deep love and admiration for America, the greatest nation and political system mankind has ever produced. I trusted government, the FBI, etc., for the most part.

What's remaining today is the patriotism, love for country, and my fellow citizens. The trust is gone.

I'm of the opinion this is a false-flag operation to manufacture support for the anti-DJI legislation. The fact this is going on for months with no response, and no explanation, screams something underhanded is going on.

That's as silly as any other conspiracy story I've heard. At least nobody has beat you yet.

Some of these "drone sightings" are definitely planes. One video I saw, there is a red light on one side, a green on the other and a strobe in between. You could hear the prop in the background. That was a Cessna single engine aircraft. You've all heard that prop sound a thousand times.

Another video had the same lights AND the landing lights. In the glare of the landing lights, *you could see the jet engines*. This is a commercial jet liner coming in for a landing. That's a plane.

Almost all of these videos show a green light on one side, and a red light on the other, plus landing lights and strobes. These are just aircraft and active imaginations. Some people have never looked up at night. And it's notoriously hard to determine the scale and speed of things that are high in the sky. Aircraft always look like they are going slow from a distance.

So answer me this: why would someone trying to "spy" or fly a stealth "drone" have aircraft running lights and a strobe?!

This is *terrible* for us because it's getting everybody freaked out about these supposed "drones" that are probably just regular air traffic.

I always put red, green and white strobes on my Mavic for night flights, just saying it could easily be mistaken for an airplane when flying 400’ up, especially if you can’t hear it.

You make good points. There probably are mistaken sightings. But I do not think they could explain all or even a significant number of the sightings by credible witnesses including state and local law enforcement and government officials. I was blown away today when I heard a NJ state senator testify before Congress today that he and a local sheriff observed a large group of drones fly into New Jersey from the ocean. He was begging the FBI official for information of who is behind this but the FBI had nothing for him or the country.
Probably Flight 19 finding its way home from the Bermuda Triangle after wandering around over the ocean in Avenger torpedo bombers since December 1945. If so, a flight-endurance record, for sure.

Skeptics read here:

That sounds weird and serious. If coast guard ships are getting chased by swarms of drones, that's odd and we should get to the bottom of it. Those Chinese spy balloons were REAL. We should have some anti-drone weapons that could be used to down some of those and see what they are.

At the same time, many of the eye witness reports and much of the reporting from the news channels looks bogus and inaccurate. With the video clips I've seen, they look like helicopters or planes. Not "unidentified drones the size of small cars." We need better evidence than this to come to conclusions.

Good explanation here from the Pilot Institute starting at 5:16:

No doubt some of the citizen provided video/images are of planes or choppers.

The craft we are seeing and have been seeing over our home are not Helios nor fixed wing.

The video in this was from Fox and was made by two airhead chicks. That Fox outlet got roasted in the comments section.

There are an endless stream of reports and videos. THe problem is the videos just show lights flying in the dark.

I watched 3 aircraft tonight fly in southern NJ while monitoring Flight Radar 24 and they were not transmitting ADS-B. They were way too far north of me and flew back and forth inland and back to the coast. My friend 10 miles north saw them too and was able to ascertain that they did not violate Class C KACY which ironically hosts an FAA Tech Center that currently is working on government funded anti-UAV research.

If they are indeed flying a grid pattern they should be much further south maybe tomorrow so maybe I can get a better view. I want to try to get them on a thermal camera if I get lucky enough to have them go over me.

My stock DJI drone has red and green on the corners.

What always amazes me in these fear monger reports are the dismal lack of image quality. Why dismal? A good photo will show what the object is, and that isn't the intent of the poster. Likes require attribution to aliens, enemies, bad neighbors, etc.

Take a look at this, watch all the way to the end.

There's no way those are manned aircraft flying that close to each other. You'd have to be a crazy person to think those are commercial aircraft flying near to each other that low over the neighborhood at 20+ miles from the airport. I live only a few miles from the airport but if those planes flew that low over my home with those lights on, those pilots would lose their license. It's a small airport so a dozen planes per night is ok. Hundreds and we'll shut that airport down, we won't stand for that.

Might be making my way to NJ to see for myself; thinking about it.

Its pretty easy to distinguish normal aircraft from drones. Planes don't hover. Planes also can't fly forward in one moment, and backwards or sideways the next instant. They also don't go straight up and down in altitude.

Likely smartphone cameras doing autofocus, which doesn't work well in the dark, especially trying to pinch-zoom in.

Yea, taking photos of a light in the sky at night doesn't tend to yield good results, even with good equipment and experienced photographers.

Someone needs to shine a super high powered spotlight on one, and then photo it.

It is a clear night, so my wife and I took a walk outside to check out the sky....there does seem to be some drones flying around....just regular ones, though, none as big as an SUV at all.......I think just a bunch of guys out flying...or copy cats...it is too dark and cold to try getting pictures

That video from the "governor" is laughable. Depending on vantage point, airplanes can and do "go up and down", "pass very close to one another", "make right angle turns", etcetera.

At night, there is no such thing as distance. The viewer has no clue if those lights are 10 feet or ten miles away. I have planes flying near my house all the time, and they look like they are drones, yet are 737 and larger aircraft, with a few turbo props thrown in. They are moving so slowly they "can't be jets", right? lol

The airport is 5.7 miles from me, under 5 NM so I need clearance to launch my drone in my backyard, and the planes generally takeoff to the east, then exit the pattern to the south then turn west (the ones I can see out my living room window). They are climbing out at 250 knots, but "going so slow" they look like they are almost hovering as they turn.
