Entry fees charged by U.S. customs Korea Mavic 4 Pro?

Funny images, I am pretty sure I am done as well with one Mavic 4 and two Mini 5s, all of mine will be registered this year and then we will see what next year brings
I was wrong just got my second Mavic 4 Pro this time the Creator version, last time was the Fly more which I added to the RC 2 Pro i had bought earlier. Learned from my financial error and just bought everything together. I think my poor decision earlier was based on not wanting to risk spending that much on a single shipment. Thinking that if something got messed up in transit or purchasing there would less exposure. My confidence grew so my last purchase was for the whole thing at once with the Creator combo.
So that leaves with 4 drones 2 Mavic 4 Pros and 2 Mini 5 Pros, sold my Mini 4 Pro and my Air 3. Feeling pretty good about the fleet.

I bought my M4P/RC2 Pro out of Korea on eBay and had it in FOUR days! FEDEX brought it through Memphis hub and it blew right through Customs there. I took it to State Farm and insured it for $75/year. If it goes down, I'm covered. I've been flying it for about 10 days now and it is head and shoulders above everything I have flown so far. **** near bullet proof if you have any experience. I don't shoot vertical, so I couldn't care less about the gimble range issue. Other than that, it is absolutely a dream to fly. Great range, even in urban areas and has ADS-B which alerted me of an aircraft (low flying helo) approaching at my altitude. Pop-up map with his location, direction of flight, altitude and my location and altitude. I got about 30 seconds of warning! Plenty of time to drop 100' near the bridge I was flying and that was pretty cool I had NO idea this would have ADS-B, but it does! LOVE this thing! Got it for about $1K lower than Adorama or B&H. Bought it with the RC2 Pro which I can't say enough good things about! And I LOVE that I can charge three batteries in about 90 minutes. I got a small power inverter for the car to charge while traveling between launch locations. I still have a Mini 4 Pro and Avata 2 for other types of flying and convenience. If you can afford it, get one and don't look back! You'll be glad you did! :)
Yes, I like You bought my mp5 and RC Pro 2 from Korea on ebay. It arrived in 5 days to Hawaii which included 3 days in Memphis. I was very happy with the quick shipping.

Simple answer is maybe. So far no one here has reported paying any fees. Grab a beer or 2 and read:
1st beer.
2nd beer.
I ordered from that US dealer I believe You are referring to. It is Faster and Cheaper to order from Korea. I ordered another order from Korea on ebay after I placed the order with the US dealer. It arrived faster and cheaper and SEALED before the unsealed one from San Diego arrived I could have saved myself another 400 bucks.

You think Customs is not checking or not aware of the tricks?

Yes but they cannot open everything, I think the risk is if some vendor selling a lot to the us and they decide to open one box, finding it undervalued or other wrong info. They will ever be busting that vendor.

I ordered a standard battery for the Mini 5 from a small Japanese vendor that did not say they would cover the Tariff, curious what happens when it gets to the US. It was much lower in price than any of the vendor promising to cover the Tariff other than some from China. So I thought as a trial it was worth the risk. Did not order ones from China because there deliver times were far longer

Yep, I got my M4P nd filter from Japan today, private shipper UniUni, I have no idea who dropped it off but it has no tariff from me. I've been testing little things here and there as well. So far so good on Japan.

For some reason I spaced out and forgot that buying from Canada is not what it used to be. I ordered a new Nanuk case for my second Mavic 4 for storage and a padded insert for the old one. Buying from them direct I got 10% off plus no sales tax, free shipping. Then I got a notice from UPS that my shipment was stuck the clearance agency from Friday on, was released this morning but now I am wondering if I have to pay some tariff fees for this shipment. Why I feel foolish is I could have just payed a little more and order it from B&H. We will see

Well the battery showed without any bill so far, It took just two days from Japan. This is one of those where I might get a tariff bill in the future. I am guessing if nothing show up in a month, it was not charged.

Not exactly confiscation but it sure feels like it:

UPS is 'disposing of' U.S.-bound packages over customs paperwork problems

I was charged a bit north of $400 for tariffs on my M4P Creator Combo BUT.... My credit card has never been charged for the purchase, which was made in late July. So to date, the package has cost me only the import tax, which I shall try to learn to live with. Sooner or later, I'm sure they will catch up but I'll patiently wait until they do. 😉

For all you scoff laws celebrating cheating the government (along with all the other people who comply with the law) out of the mandated tariff fees. Maybe stop publicly bragging about it, too.

U.S. Customs can retroactively collect fees, particularly if they determine goods were misdeclared. This can happen during audits or investigations, where they may assess the correct duties, penalties, or other fees for past importations. While new tariff changes are generally not retroactive, the power to collect back fees is used in situations like discovered misclassification or adjustments to the declared customs value.

Reasons for retroactive collection
  • Misdeclaration:
If U.S. Customs finds that goods were misdeclared upon entry (e.g., misclassified, undervalued, or improperly declared), they can issue a retroactive bill for the correct duties and any applicable penalties.

  • Transfer pricing adjustments:
When a company adjusts its transfer price for goods already imported, which increases the customs value, it may need to pay additional duties for those past importations.

  • Systemic errors:
There have been instances where a change in fee structures required a retroactive billing to cover a specific period due to a delay in their automated systems.

  • Anti-dumping/Countervailing duties:
In certain investigations where "critical circumstances" are found, U.S. Customs can order the retroactive suspension of liquidation for entries made before a determination is made.
Consequences of non-payment
  • Delayed release:
If a fee is discovered after the package has been delivered in error, the courier may be tasked with recouping the fees. The goods may not have been released until the fees were paid in the first place.

  • Holding of goods:
If an importer doesn't pay within a specified timeframe (e.g., 15 days), their goods can be moved to a customs warehouse. To retrieve them, the importer must pay the duties owed, plus storage and transportation fees, and any penalties.

  • Legal proceedings:
In cases of significant non-compliance, failure to pay may lead to administrative or even criminal proceedings.

what illegalities are they condoning, everything I have ordered from overseas, the vendor said they would be responsible for all tariffs and fees, except my latest $100 purchase from a vendor in Japan which i stated I will wait to see if I get a bill from FedEx for any tariff fee. I think my order from Canada the fee was paid by the vendor but if not I will.
Secondly unless somebody here instructed an overseas vendor to fill out an incorrect customs declaration what have they done that could be called an illegality, other wise that is on the shipper. Nobody I have seen here as seen a customs declaration form from a shipment.
If you read the UPS article not once did UPS reach out to the receiver to clear up issues with the customs clearance, they reached out to the shipper to correct issues with the forms

Again I will repeat the only cheating going on is by the government, by not telling the truth about tariffs

Whatever you say🤷🏼‍♂️🤣
yes because the import tax is bringing in lots of funds from nowhere but here, no other country is paying them. With those vendors that cover the tariffs, we pay a higher price so that they can pay the tariff for us with our funds.
But I am glad you are looking out for us

Not looking out for the cheaters. Looking out for the honest people.

So..... what if the SCOTUS declares Trump exceeded his authority by imposing the tariffs and directs the government to refund anything in excess of what the tariffs were before all the chaos began?

While that would be the correct opinion I have serious doubts this Supreme Court will ever do that. Even if they did I see their best possible ruling would stay them now but let the funds already collected not have to be refunded. More likely they will go back to Monroe and say the powers date back to a President from some 200 years ago
