Extended antenna

I am considering following the drone in a car. Has anyone tried to detach the antenna from the RC unit and mount them on the roof of the car?

You can actually use the Mavic through a windshield or back window. Guys on here in the frigid cold sometimes launch the Mavic and then get back in thier vehicle to fly. Its warmer in there is what they say.

Gain = 8.5 dBi
No amps. However, I still have them from my P3P days.
Purchased approx. 2 years ago for my P3P from here: 2.4 GHz 8.5 dBi Omni Antenna w/ Magnetic Mount - 10ft RP-SMA Plug Connector - HG2409MGU-RSP
