The SC already has a microphone. Why would you need another one, even if it were possible?

Was thinking of filming a train passing by. so wanted a external mic close to the tracks.

yes it does, But pick-up needs to be a little closer some times

its conceptual right now. we are trying to sync the vid to the sound and stay safe.i know this is kind of **** ,but it could have some really cool applications.

Well my solution would be to use an audio recorder. Far better than most onboard solutions. There are many many options. From really cheap to really expensive.

So your talking about transmitting the audio from the tracks to the controller? That won't be recorded with the drone's video. Just record at the tracks with a portable recorder. This is not hard to sync with drone's video in post. It's not like dialog, even easier.

Or if you are close enough, why not use your cell phone and then merge the video and audio when editing.

I did notice when I was trying out Parrot to record sound that I had to up the "gain" or whatever otherwise the sound was really anemic.

Sound will always sound "bad" if recorded from a distance, gain will only make bad sound louder!

if we can't do it now, we will be able to in the near future.

Tested a SHURE computer USB Mic in the smart controller ,and it works.
now to find a good place to make this a great option
