FAA refunding drone registration fee?

Hey guys,

I recall reading just a few weeks back, that the faa drone registration was still a thing and mandatory even if you were still flying to the US on vacation. Prior to my vacation coming up, I came across this link:
The FAA is now refunding Americans who registered their drones

Has anybody heard about this yet?
