Fan comes on really fast, and the mavic gets hot

I mentioned this in another thread...
If you look at the bottom of the mavic you will see the metal heatsink. At the front, behind the gimbal you will see the air inlet, at the back is the exhaust vents. Most people think this is all there is to the cooling system, they assume the air that goes in the front comes out the back. Some heat is dissipated with the bottom heatsink. Yet people fail to realize that the fan inside actually blows MOST of the air out to the BOTTOM of the mavic, near the front of the metal heatsink. If you look between the "fins" the holes go inside and the air comes out of this.

This is a problem if you place the mavic on something that covers the bottom, like on a couch, on your leg, on a book holding it up from the center, or arms folded in and just sitting on the desk.

So take a look at it, literally just to the front of the downward visioning camera, you will see this. Don't cover them.

This is an excellent point. There are 3 places for the air from the fan to exhaust, one bottom and 2 in the back. If youre doing an FW update with Mavic folded up, and sit your Mav on a flat surface, the bottom vent is partially blocked, and wont let the air out.
