Firmware Updating

So I have been reading that there is mixed emotions about updating firmware.
In my case it would be around the Mavic Pro line.
I see there are 2 possible ways to do updates...
1: From the GO-4 app on the Cell phone/tablet.
2: Via the DJI Assistant program that can be ran from a PC.
Being an IT guy for several years I tend to trust updating firmwares
from a stand alone PC instead of separate devices like Phones.
Has anyone noticed a positive or negative related to either?

I used the DJI Assistant 2 application to install the past couple of Mavic firmware updates. While both methods will do the job, I sometimes have trouble getting DJI GO to download the firmware.

Yea I was wondering about that as well. Cell phones can be sluggish at times.
It wanted to do a firmware update last night while I was looking over all of the menus
so I told it to skip until I have done more homework.

I, and others, have had problems updating through go 4 because the Mavic will interfere with WiFi signals and effectively cause it's own download to abort. I am planning on using the Assistant software on the PC for any future connections.

Best to use a PC with a hardwired ethernet connection to the internet.
