  • i noticed first of all the air 3s really sharpens things so i went ahead AFTER the video was shot and reduced sharpening by -2, is it enough ??...
  • i have to admit the WB kicked my ***, at one moment the gimbal tilted down 90 degrees water looked gorgeous and VIVID, the second moment gimbal shifted up at horizon level colors looked washed out (u cant see that in video coz i added sat.) and many say its due to WB, so how to fix that ??... is it a case in all shooting scenarios or only sea and desert ??...
  • from now on i might stick to D-Log, as am not super excited with this first result, is the air 3s particularly picky about colors and WB ?? coz with my previous Air 2s i never had to shoot anything other than Normal mode,

thanks,,,

Circle shot was awesome, colors to washed out , white Ballance all over , lock in exposure ,and let auto do the rest.
Cinematic shots were done really well.

One thing to remember is that you dont always have to be in motion you can hover in the path of the boat so your relatively still and move up as the boat comes into you or away from you. this makes for a very dynamic shot and its still safe as your keeping your height adjusted.

Sadly the quality of the video is just not there for me, I watched on the 20 Ft Projector Screen and errors showed up on the quality of the footage.

Super shooting Looked to be a cloudy overcast day that imparted saturation and contrast Overall Sweet love the circling fishing boat/Yacht. Excelente

U r particularly right about that, it was really cloudy that day, so what settings do I need on those days to get a proper image saturation etc...?!...

U r absolutely right i did say it gave me trouble color correcting and am not found myself of the looks really it was too washed out, how is locking the exposure gonna help if any i admit i don't understand this particular concept!!... and what the hell can I do about the WB in such scenarios when it's really cloudy ?!?.....

Sorry for the dumb question but am still trying to make sense from the lock exposure thing, so the idea is to basically when flying the drone simply find the best exposure and lock it for the entire flight regardless of the camera Angles of view ?...

Also not sure why the normal mode produced a very washed out look, and how to fix that...

Get an exposure that looks overall good. When you are on auto, if you have good lights and darks as an exposure, as you turn, let's say towards the sun shining on water and a bright sky, the auto will trun down the exposure to make it all look darker. Then, as you rotate around and film, say the fields and a mountain with almost no bright sky, the auto exposure will brighten up the scene, sometimes a little too bright.

Therefore, your video will be bouncing around in exposure from possibly too dark to suddenly too bright. By locking the exposure to the best overall scene selection, you may get a very slightly darker scene of the mountain and fields and a much more blown out scene of the sun in the sky shining down on water, when filmed directly into the sun.

I hope this all makes sense to you. When you shoot a video that goes between two dynamic range extremes, there is no perfect way to get everything correctly exposed, so you must compromise, when choose to lock the exposure. You can always brighten up a scene that is a little dark, but if a bright scene is over exposed, all data is lost, and you get nothing to be able to recover in post editing.
